Due to the Room for Children exhibit's popularity, the Institute's staff recommends arriving between noon and three p.m., when the lines are short and people are just starting to register their kids for the workshops.

If you plan to visit during lunch time, you can order something to eat at the café while the kids play in the courtyard.

Once inside, you can discover the tribute to children's books, entitled Des Mondes Illustrés

Then, head up to the first floor, to discover the kid's library, which includes a collection of books in Swedish, French, English, German and Chinese.  There are also comfortable chairs for the parents to sit down and read a story as well as cushions on the floor for the kids to be at ease during their visit.

Here, everything has been designed for kids to be able to easily choose the books themselves. In addition, the kids are welcome to borrow puzzles and board games and spend as much time as they want (under the supervision of an adult).

For a more hand-on approach, there are a series of free painting and sculpting workshops during the weekend and on Wednesdays. Mediators are there to lead the creative process and to and to help the kids create beautiful works of art.

Without a doubt, the Institut Suedois is one of the most kid-friendly spaces in Paris--they even have a designated parking space for strollers--a plus for moms with babies and toddlers!
